Recently put this 243 together, started life as a blister pack ADL with an absolute POS scope.

Stuck it in a McM Classic, added a Timney hunter trigger and mounted a NXS 2.5-10 in Leupold DDs.

Started load development and found a decent load using Barnes 80gr ttsx.

Commenced to cleaning up the brass for reloading and found this ring in the shoulder. Don’t have a bore scope (yet) to get a look at the chamber. Never had a factory chamber mark the brass like this before.

Picture dosen’t really represent how deep the groove is.

Do you think a reamer turned by hand would remove the ridge or should I just leave it alone?

I wouldn’t worry about it. Its not affecting accuracy or function, so I don’t see a concern.

I've got a "custom" rifle put together with a well-known smith that shows that same attributes on the shoulder. The gun shoots great so I've left it alone. Barrels are consumables...

No ring in mine but I’ve got a pretty similar setup and I love it.

700 .243 ALD “package” - launched the clamshell scope into orbit. Swfa 3-9 in Burris dualies, Super 700 two stage, dropped in a McM Rem Classic. Does well with 105 hpbt’s over ‘17.

This one likely won’t stay this way for long. Original intent was to use it as a donor for a fat 6br. I have a Manners T5A sitting here for that same build. OCD compelled me to shoot the donor.....🙄
