I had a chance last week to play with the 243 fieldcraft i picked up from whittakers on closeout. Pulled it out of the stock adjusted the trigger to 2 1/4 lb, the bedding and pillars are perfect.scrub the bore to bare metal, lots of dust inside maybe it was a display model. Put it back together with a SWFA 3-15 on top ,torque and loctite all fastners. 108 ELDM's kiss at 2.860. Found pressure with rl 17 settled on 40.5 grains of 17 which gives me a velocity of 2800 flat in Lapua virgins and CCI 200's. Took 2 shots to get it close to zero and then put the next 5 in one ragged hole. Need to load up some more and head back to the range and do it again but i am more than happy so far.Someone on the campfire had to send one back to Barrett because the contour on the barrel wasn't smooth, I checked mine and couldn't see anything but when I run my fingers down the barrel I can feel a bump in the contour about 3 inches from the muzzle.I could care less but was curious and checked it, certainly not sending it back and anxiously waiting with open checkbook for the next round of closeouts.F1F20A56-B959-478D-8290-620497CCEF73_1_201_a.jpeg

Wow, if only they made some lefties. Maybe I need to buy one and set it aside for any future right side shooters in the family.
