Would a 22" barrel be too "blasty" in the chambering? 24" is all I've run and would like to go shorter, but not too.

22" standard sporter contour balances nicely and isn't any more blasty than the 24" it started out at....

I'd slow down and look at the BIG picture.

Mainly how .25's suck.(grin)

I've had 'em in 21,22,23,24 and 26". Pass the 22" 224 Speedmire......................

Finally got around to chambering last weekend. Went 24" and have enough 100 grain bullets and RL 19 to abuse it for a good while.

Hoping for the Maiden Voyage this weekend. Expecting 3350 fps with 100's and RL19, which I have plenty of. 57 grains of 19 got me there quite some time ago. I expect this Bart & chamber to do it with less powder. I'm kissing a 100 nbt at 3.215 with the reamer I used. That seems shorter than the last ones I had, but I just can't remember for certain.

It's a point and shoot rig. That is for sure. I'm still excited to see how it groups.

Yes, that is a Craftsman YT4000 in the background. No, it's not for sale.

56.5 RL 19 & 100 nbt @ 3.200" = 3310 fps and good accuracy. I quit there. All loads shot decent aside from the first 4 sighters, which were a bit squirrely.

POI is the same with all charge weights tested. Should be a good "grab and go" rig.

F'n a! Quit busting my balls, bruuh. This isn't my only rifle!

My other is a 270 Winchester for windy days.
I shoot the 130 Power-Shok bullets, so the wind doesn't push the bullet off course.

Was shooting a tick after daylight in the leeward side this AM and was 4 Mil's of wind at 930yds with 223 88's. I'd of needed to tape another 6x MQ alongside,to shoot 100 NBT's at 3300fps in the same conditions.(grin)

The Six Twat-Six with 110 Sugars at 3300fps,slips nicely,if schleppin' a .473" L/A.

270's are THE best Donors...............(grin)

I'm assuming my baby brother will end up with it (the 25), as he sold me his chambered in same when we was a broke college student. If not, it'll become a saami 280 in it's next life. Thought that'll be years away at my pathetic pace over the last 18 months or so.

Just now getting back to burning powder after a summer of doing nearly zero. I've got stuff, parts to make more fun stuff, and have not had much ambition about it this past summer.

The above was all JBM,which is the engine used in most things. There ain't too much in Physical Law,that is subjective.(grin)

Was shooting a coupla 280's this morning as well, one of which is THE Incredible HULK,with 180's at 2750fps.

Cheer up,I've 25'd more than anyone....................(grin)

Every time you bring up the 6-06 I think about making one. I've got a 270 that hasn't been fired since 2012 that is just begging for the transformation.

The Six Twat-Six do nice thangs and easily.

I'll take the Beer Cans in 224 Speedmire and/or 22PPC AFI. Milder manners is soothing and easier on spouts,as I go through enough of 'em anyhow.

If only for conversation...224 Speedmire and Beer Cans at 3200fps,with 37.5grs of '17.

It's a fucking HAMMER......................

I've got a 22 creed slinging 88s, just looking at some way to knock the dust off this long action sitting in the corner
