I know there are a few here who shoot one.

Anyone tried Lever in it? I'm looking for a starting point with 123s.

I would imagine I'd be safe with the same amount of Lever as Varget??

Lineman,

I had one quite a while ago. I was running 37.0 grains of RL15 with the 120 nbt's. It was not a top end load @ 2800 fps in a 24" barrel. I agree with you and would personally not be worried about starting just under proven charge weights for varget(or RL15 in my reference), with leverevolution powder.

This one is shooting great with Varget @ 38 grains. Case is full, but not compressed. No pressure signs. SD/ES next to nothing, but I was hoping for a little more velocity than the 2810 I'm seeing out of this 23" barrel.

I'd be doing the same as you. RL15 might also be worth a look. I know that I could have gone higher than 37.0 grains in mine, but my F/P fitment was poor. Overall, it was a short lived project that I'd like to do-over. Hmm...

Hey guys, got heated out of bear woods. 88 degrees and thinking I'll go back later. 41.2 IMR4451 with 140s is as high as I'd go. 39.8 ish for the 147 eld with H4350 is a winner as well. Never shot the smaller bullets in there though that 123 Scenar would be a good one. Kind of wondering if that IMR4451 would be worth a look with that 123?

Our 3 have .170 fb as well, so obviously work up to those charges.

It might be, big issue (I think) would be getting enough of it in the case.

Same problem I'm having with Varget. I've never worked with 4451 so don't know how fine it is, local Cabelas didn't have any on the shelf when I stopped by after work today.

Honestly, will probably just load the rest of these and roll with it. A lot of irons in the fire at the moment, been loaded up on OT and season right around the corner has me strapped for time bad.

Shooting as well or better than I can anyway, typical group:

Depending on how these do on deer, it's pretty likely that I'll switch to 140 VLDs or 147s after I burn these 123s up.

Good luck with the bears!

That load is going to do fine for you. Nice shooting. Post pics of deer.

Got a few ideas on the bears. And son is coming along on next trip so that will be better. The best time of year.

Loaded up some Varget behind the 140 vlds, hope to shoot them next week. The IMR4451 140 vld load worked fine on elk this fall. Probably will get used for one more tag if we stop pheasant hunting.

123s did me well this year. I plan on loading the lot with Varget/123 and be done with this one.

They appear to act like TSXs on the few deer I've seen so far, when started around 2850. Not a bad thing in my opinion.

I really liked 139’s and had confidence in the 123. I still do. But the 147 is no joke.

Wouldn’t believed it if I hadn’t seen it and no I can’t show it cause it’s probably still flying.

Film at 11.

Yep, I haven’t heard anything bad from the 147s from the people I know who are shooting them.

Ive only saw one, dug out of an offside shoulder:
201

I’ll probably give them a go in the x47 before it’s said and done.
