Thanks! Pretty good blueprint for sure. Sporterish in a MR handle feels really good in my hands.

By the way, not sure if you’ve been by lately, but the 300 yard range is now 600.

A 3 Mil correction from a 200yd zero,while fire forming at the 600yd line,don't shake the foundation.

Still amazes me,every time I pull the trigger on one,how it do soooooooo much...with so little...................

I still need to fix my mag on this, still wearing factory spacer.

As much as I love Montanas, this one is creeping towards the top of my list.

Thinking of sending my .243 off and duping the .223 build in a 6.5 Creed, and hoping the factory Hornady 147s shoot as good in it as I've seen in several others at the range. Would be a fun rig too, and while I don't mind reloading, the though of buying a case of factory ammo and rolling with it does sound appealing.

Keep the 243 a 243! Rebarrel if needed. Sorry, I'm just a 243 fan... I've just hammered a lot of shit with them.

Add the 6.5 and a 7 mag for 162-180 launching and you're done. Well. Not really. Maybe "done" for a few weeks.

The .243 is still my favorite of all time. It's not my only, I'll never be without one.

I've killed more with a .243 than anything.

I was done after the 6.5x47, then needed to give the .223AI another shot since I read so much shit about them. Figured everyone needs a 6mm Predator, then decided I really had to have another 7mm 8400. That's not counting pistols. Yea, I've come to find out that being 'done' don't mean shit.

I'll probably have another sell-off in about a year, and start over like I usually do. But then again, I'm pretty damn happy with some of them I've came into over the past year.

Brett sent me a modded mag box, very much appreciated. Works like a charm, feeding great.

This one’s done now.

Thanks Brett, very generous of you!

You change your mind on that and decide to sell, remember me. Always wanted a flamer and love this rifle.

Figured I’d check zero after disassembly and check this scope as well.

3 @ 100 with a lot of elevation dialed between each.

I’ll load the rest of this lot of R/P and hope i can get close to 3100 in formed brass.

Anyone running AR-Comp in the .223 with 75's?

Lever is just too temp sensitive in our summers.
Cuando,

Curious, what speeds are you running the lever at? What temps are giving you fits?

I'm running 27.8 lever and naked 75's in a 22" tube(3015 fps) and have not experienced issues up to 80 degrees or so. I wonder if it's because I'm not pushing that hard to begin with, or if I'm not in the kind of heat that can create issues. Could you please share your thoughts on this?
Thanks.

It gets into the high 90’s most of the summer here and it’s nothing to see 108.

I really like Lever but I’m sick of having to worry about it in the temps we get here.

Had issues at 27.8 gr on hot days.

I've messed with 8208 xbr and have had great speeds (3,100 ish) but I keep hearing about it being inconsistent lot to lot.

AR-Comp is super temp stable and around the same speed as H4895 from what I've been told.

Might be a good alternative.

Worked up a load with AR Comp today.

22” Pacnor 3 groove
75 ELD’s and a kiss
26.5 AR Comp
RP formed case
CCI 400’s
3,090 fps

I went up to 27 gr but 26.5 is just starting to compress and there was a nice flat spot on the magneto.

Stuff meters rather well.

I haven't seen anything weird with Lever, but I haven't really tried to hurt it either.

Most of my load development is in the heat of summer, I think the last time I chorno'ed any lever loads it was close to 90.

I'll clock them again if it ever gets cold around here and see what happens.

So I was loading some 223ai's last night and chucked 7 of 100 r/p cases with cracked necks or the start of cracked necks. I suppose there are 3-4 firings on the brass.

Measured loaded neck diameter vs. fired and have a .009" different. I would guess this is sloppy by BR standards but pretty typical for a saami chamber?

Reamer used was a Manson with no specifics noted on the reamer, so I assume dimensions are "normal". For reference, COAL with a 75 ELD is 2.468".

Redding FL die set is being used.

Bad batch of brass or is my reamer jacked up?

That COAL is a nice place to be. I'd of spec'd less clearance, but you can simply measure neck thicknesses on different Manufacturer's Lots and literally narrow that gap.

If you score uniform stuff a bushing without expander ball, muchly prolongs case life and reduces trimming.

I drive .003" constriction on everything........................
