I picked up a 700 SPS Tactical in .223 a couple months ago. I got it used, at a good price. It has a 20" heavy barrel (9-twist) and Hogue stock (BDL-style). It shoots pretty good, so I'm thinking of putting it in a Grayboe stock with M5/DBM bottom metal.

How is the Grayboe Terrain? It's a lot lighter than the Renegade, but maybe "lightweight" shouldn't be a concern with this particular barreled action?

I'm familiar with the McM A5 (same pattern as the GB Renegade, right?). I just don't know much about the Terrain. What do you think, decent stock?

The Terrain is a good pattern, though not a lightweight stock. I think it'd balance well with that SPS Tactical, and would be a huge upgrade to the Hogue stock that they come with.
