Thinking about one.

I know Stick loves his, anyone else tried one?

I tried to find his thread on his but got tired of searching!

Hard for me to go 700 on a light build, especially now that they aren’t as cheap and readily available.

If the 22/6 GT would feed with zero dicking around (as advertised), that would certainty be persuasive in a Kimber. . .

Clearly Stick can make it work, but I'm lazy.

I've never Gay Tigered in a Montucky or anything else,so really cain't comment, other than the obvious case/length/size/design extrapolations,in relation to more mainstay wares. Have gunned a brace of 6XC's in Montucky and neither sucks, nor would aspook me.

Internal mags,are simplistic wares.....................

Bet it works.(grin)

Milled followers, continue to be worth their weight in gold.

My 700 based 260AI is a 8" RPM Hart, which sips from M5 AICS and Smooches 147's at about 2.935" COAL................

montucky 6br replaced my 223 montucky and 243 fieldcraft in one fell swoop. and not sad about it.

thing kicks ass. didn't do anything to mag. just load them to the front. 4 down and 1 chambered.

only dumped 3 critters with it so far.. showed up 3 weeks ago.

got a feeling this barrels gonna get warm out quickly. missed a yote today. me and little man splatted a couple sage rats on the ride back to town.

I wouldn't build a 6BR any longer than 22",for any application...though I don't have any that long...............(grin)

My cousin has built a ton of BRs for people, starting to get quite the reputation around here. He recommended 20”, but built a light weight for a guy last year @18” and said it’s not too far behind at all.

Said it’s too easy to pass up. 6BR, 30BR and .20 Vartarg, he says he’ll guarantee 1/2” at 100 with any barrel besides Shaw and Wilson.

Contour effects balance/handling,like length do and it's rather nice that not many inches of length...are required for said chambering to shine brightly.

I've only had (1) which started at 28" and ended shy of 22" and chrono'd all the way, while wearing the same throat/chamber and bore dimensions, will tossing the same Lot of ammo.(grin)

I hear Good Thangs about the 6BR................(grin)

its dick ez to get 6br to shoot virtually no vertical at distance.

passed on the Gayness. the net gain in velocity didn't seem to sway the needle in how ez it is to get 6br's to shoot. and considering feed/ejection is perfect without mods and i'm sitting in a mountain of brass/factory fodder... no brainer.

as for length. 21" works for me.

if i was bustin alders, in and out of skiffs regularly, or cussing monkey scrub i'd 18"

but here in the dry country 21" seems to be the spot for good balance of handyness and velocity.. if contour is similar to oem i'd go there

6br's are money for killing as long as the monkey controlling qc at the factory doesn't mix up a dummy round into live stuff. LoL

not sure how the bullet didn't stick in the bore with 10thou jam and virtually no neck tension. all good, tho. it was the follow up round. wasn't needed anyways.

I just grabbed a few of these.
40% off.

I'm 22ing my BR, as I bought a 3500 round lot of 88s and need to dry that well before spending more dough on luxury builds. Barrel got in last week.

Figure 27-28 should be a safe start with lever?
Where should I look to land velocity wise with a 20" spout?
