Glock 40?

Here we go again...

Feller's gotta have a 10MM because... I don't know, snakes and such. Seems like everyone with a G20 puts a longer barrel in it for style points, so why not take advantage of the extra length for sight radius? I could just as easy go XDM10 with a 5.25" barrel. My XD40 is arguably nicer to shoot, but its been a while since I've shot a full size glock.

Talk me out of it.

I keep waiting on S&W to bring out the M&P in a 10...but so far, no joy.

I haven’t looked at the XD in 10, but there’s something about them that I don’t like, so it wouldn’t be the way I roll.

I’ve handled several of the Glock model 40 and it seems nice, but considerably heavier than the model 20...although I haven’t actually weighed them.

Anymore though, I don’t think there is a bad way to fly ...

I've had a number or 10s over the years (a pair of Glock 20s and a pair of Delta Elites), but I'm currently without. I'd like another one, but I'm having trouble deciding between a Glock 40 or a Kimber 6" Stainless Target. For utility, the Glock is the way to go, but they are so damn boring. The 1911s have more sex appeal.

My Glock 20 has a 6.5" Alpha Wolf barrel and shoots 200 grain hard cast quite well. No experience with other but it works well for me. Never held a 40.

I haven't paid attention to the current state of glocks in so long I'm halfway lost.

Any downside to going MOS?

I really wanted a G40, but my hands prefer the 20 by a good bit.

Always have mine in the HPG bag on my chest.

Father in law bought 2 of the XDs and put a red dot on one. Triggers (factory) seem quite a bit better but the Glocks point better for me. Accuracy is a wash between them.

My G20 really likes the Underwood 200 gr XTP, haven’t tried the hard cast in this barrel, but they did fine in my old 20 and 29.

After fondling the glock and the XD side by side, I made up my mind it would be the XDM. Then I sold a rifle in a deal I was sure was dead, and found the XDm the same day, so was a wash money wise.

Only a couple hundred rounds through it so far, but reliability is excellent and any accuracy complaints are about the shooter, not the gun.

OEM Glock triggers are, well, slightly better than 10 miles of AK gravel road. They become something much more pleasant with a 3# connector and about an hour of loving up all pins and faying surfaces with a Foredom/Dremel spinning a wool buffing wheel dressed with a little Maas Metal Polish among other tricks.

Both KKM and Wheaton makes very nice spouts for them.

I've had an XD 40 forever and a G23 longer. I've come to prefer xd ergos to glocks, although I am far from a glock hater. The stock trigger on the xdm smokes the glock, but as mentioned above, that doesn't mean much.

Glock will always have better aftermarket support, but there are triggers and such for the xd, and no need for aftermarket barrels. Grin.

You should just swing by and shoot it.

Glad you bumped this back up
I’m kinda wanting a glock in 10 or 45 but don’t know what model as I haven’t shot a glock in years
What made you decide on the XD?
Come grab my Grock 21 45ACP in the Kenai and flog on it.

I'm in 34 Mode and partly due to the trigger......................

I wanted another 10 after trading off my 1006 years ago and planned on getting a G20...but then came across way too good of a deal on a G40, to pass it up.

It's f'n huge, but should be a lot of fun to shoot.

If the weather holds true, later today I'll be flogging on it and the new .223...

This damn 'Rona virus is expensive.....
