I have a hankering for a small capacity powder burner in a 6mm for killing critters. I wanted a 6 ARC in a bolt gun but I have a Howa 22-250 with a craptastic barrel that is worse than a shotgun so I’m thinking a 6 BR would fit the role and the ability to get L brass is a huge plus. Thinking a 20” barrel with an 8 or 7 twist not decided on contour.

velocity with a 20” and 90 grainers on up?

I love the 6BR,but not for 90's or anything close to them. Building on the Howie, paints you in some corners, when talking bang for the buck.

20" is plenty for me.............

Howady Doody needed a new barrel, so it got a Pacnor 1:7" 3 groove, #3 profile at 20"... 110Atips @ 2730fps are a fucking mind bender !! Also Loves 108 ELDs and Sierra 110 HPBT's, though I haven't killed with the Sugars yet.

I have been searching high and low for the 112 'Burners down here, with no luck thus far !! Bravo's seem to be growing under my rifles at an exponential rate, I'm a huge fan of them.

i can't unthrone the 6br for fun or for killing ungulates

krg bravo is the ez button. ur good there.

90gr are going backwards from my experience. you can't get enough velocity to get them to surpass what a 108 eld-m does in terms of max velocity threshold or wind deflection.. even 90 scenars fall behind before the 500 yard line if memory serves

you'll see about 2800 give or take with leverevolution and 20" with 108's.

it's hot as fuck in wyoming in the summer so i'm .2 off max, 20 thousandths off the lands and dead nuts 2800 fps with rl-15... 29.6gr if memory serves. loads been stable for 1400 rounds.

if u can, just buy loaded 6br factory fodder for break in and rock on. i mean speed up but whatever.

6br is a dick ez to load for. it's a 308 lite so don't expect great terminal performance at 800, but it hammers deer and elk for sure

a palma lite is a good contour for a belly gun. i'd not go lighter then a .65 if ur gonna run a krg. it'll be ass heavy. the number 2 preferred barrels makes is a nice contour. have them shorten the shank tho

260', I swapped out the AICS guts for Primal Rights innards and all is golden for Feed /Function. Also have the MDT 6BR 12 Rounder AICS DBM for schlepping extra rounds and Hi-Volume fun.

I've either had to mod OEM internal mags(700/Montucky),or drive dedicated guts/dedicated mags. Primal has worked well and now the MDT true BR mags, are handy, though I prefer 5-rounders for Utility default...............

i remember you writing about the mag box tweaks you had to do to the montucky.

i just load led em to the front and it was golden.

every rifle is a rule to itself.

I figured 95s would be the lightest to sling for deer when in a pinch looking more towards 105-110 range. I really wanted to play with an ARC but BR is the easy button. I’ll start looking at contours this weekend.
