Like to carry my old heavy 41 holstered-up w/ I'm out about in the sticks. I've settled on 2 ammo types, the CCI subsonic hp for headshots on things I want to eat & Winchester Super-X hp for stuff I just want dead. The CCI shoots better than target ammo in mine, the Super-x not as fine, but will get the job done.

What do you guys like in your 22?s

Have always used an old stash of Federal #711 Match for capping grouse with the Mk II Target and punching paper with the turn bolt. The contemporary stuff is #711B under the Gold Medal brand name and is far cheaper than Eley. Give it a shot....

That Winchester Super-X Power Point HP ammo has always been good stuff, never jams & hits hard. I worry about running tons of it thru my M41, its high velocity nature really slams that action. The CCI Subsonic is definitely a bit more leisurely.

As for the Super-X, when I can find it on sale for @ or under $20 a brick, I stock up.

Ventilated a boatload of critters, back in my youth, with Sup'-X and a Marlin 66 purchased with paper route payola. Had a particular passion for island bunnies and goulash...

and nice 41's in later years....
