A wicked Jeep crash this weekend put a kink in the barrel of my trusty 243 Montana kill stick.

What to turn it into, twist, and who to do it?

I'll give you $500 for it! 😁

I'm looking for an 84M to rebarrel as a 22 Creedmoor, probably 7.5 twist. That would be my choice, anyway, and I'd probably send it to Shaen.

Sorry to hear about the wreck.

I'd be doing a 6mm creedmoor or 22 creedmoor, depending on its use.

I'd send it to Shaen as well

Horn,
Have you gotten tired of my Montana yet?
I think it wants to come home to VA.

Missing, presumed dead.....
Can't give a compelling reason to change from what others have said.

I'd likely go 6 Creed over the 22 as I'd use that more I think. Heard nothing but great things about Shaen.

For me, the only question would be 22 Creed vs 6 Creed. Stainless, factory contour dupe, twisted and throated for 88 eldm/108 eldm, respectively.

It’d unquestionably be going to Shaen.

Exactly. 22 vs 6 would be decided based on what states I hunted allowed 22 cal for big game

I just noticed a 243 Montana on gunbroker buy now for $1,125. Not a race horse of a deal but everything is high right now if you can even get it. Just passing along.

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably do 6 Creed since I have property in a state that specs 0.243" as the min bore size for deers. Still some confused people working in F&G departments.

I think the barrel ended up between Jeep's roll bar and the ground somewhere during an inversion. It was the only casualty, apart from some body panels which weren't much to look at before so not much of a loss.
