It has been hard resisting pulling the trigger on one of those. Ruger did a damn fine job with that Hawkeye.

Charley may be buying his own Christmas gift this year......

How does yours feed?

Like a champ. Ran a bunch of rounds through it just to see and no problems. I am really impressed with the rifle, except for the pad. I SUCK at putting pads on but how bad could I phuck it up..........

I love how they thinned out the forend and no more 1/4" flats along the barrel channel. If I get real froggy I might cut a few inches off the forend (that will remove the sling stud) add ebony, and put a barrel band on.

I agree. They did a nice job redesigning that stock.

As for the pad, just borrow someone's belt sander and go to town. An 80 grit belt will probably make short work of it.

Pad is orders. It will be a good rig with the new bad, weren't near the 416 with 400gr bullets. I'm putting a 1.75-6x Leupold on it.

Been a very long time since I shot an H&H, felt like a hot loaded 338 with 250's, give or take.

I will bed it before doing much shooting with it.
