This is what I am doing for a lighter weight hunting/kids rifle:

700 SS Action
Rifle Basix trigger
Ti Stock
Pac Nor 22" 3 groove 1-9" twist, in Mountain Rifle Contour, 223AI
Callahan firing pin/shroud

I'm thinking more or less along the same lines as your rifle Calvin. Mine will be a macmillan, a PN 1-8 twist, and will probably stick with my factory trigger. I am really pleased with the results I got in 20 minutes of tinkering with the 700 trigger. Haven't decided on the contour yet. It will be something on the light side, but how light I haen't decided yet.

At some point, a dedicated range chunker is on the agenda too.

My problem right now is that I have the rifle shooting really well as is, and I just can't see tearing it apart until spring time at least. Well, that's what my buddy has me talked into at this point anyway. I will have to get the McMillan ordered soonish though.

That has a #1 Pac-Nor, but is akin to everyones #2. The GAP camo 223AI has a #2 Pac-Nor. Both modest shank.

I've got 'em in most flavors.

Twists 8,9,10,12 and 14. Barrels from 20-24",contours from #1 to straight 1.350". Stocks from Mountain Rifle to A1,A2 and A5.

My #3 1-8" 21" black/white Classic,is easily the best one on the Planet.....................
