I've got the same rifle flinging the same bullets, I love it. Mine's wearing a 10x SS but may soon get a 2-12, I'm liking the one on my 223.

The dot isn't my favorite for punching paper but it's a dandy killing reticle

I find it really good for precision work, I zero the group right on the top edge of the dot, just like you do with a post front site

Got out for our spring turkey opener today. Birds were very tight lipped. They went away from me off the roost and took awhile to locate. Had a pair of hens come through about 2 in the afternoon with 4 longbeards not far behind, as soon as they saw my jake decoy they came running. Let them get a little too close. At the 14 paces this bird was killed my pattern is only about the size of a golf ball. It strung feathers out about 10yds beyond the bird…..

……and the obligatory tailgate shot…..
