So I went to the range to shoot with it.

Nothin too special...YHM Phantom SS 7.62 quick-disconnect.

overgassed like a motherfucker.

AF noise due to not having an STM-equipped piece of glass.

had 3 sbr's sent out the exact same day. went pending the exact same day.

Would you say the report is basically on par with a 22 lr supersonic (sans can)?

about that, yeah. maybe a tad louder. that range, though, is a carved-out trough basically, so there's dirt walls on all sides for noise to echo off of. i wouldn't shoot it for extended periods there without protection.

shooting it at an above-ground range this weekend. we'll see what's what. i'm betting it isn't nearly as pronounced since there's way more space for the noise to go to without echoing back at the shooter.

You need to go shoot it where its open space. A cover overhead re-directs the noise pretty good. Also spray a little bit of WD40 in the can. Wet makes it quieter

not sure i wanna run a rifle can wet. I don't think that's advisable. rimfire/pistol sure....but i think the pressure is too high on rifle cans.
