Well played sir!

Been trying to do the same, but have not yet set foot in goat country. Seems either weather, health, or my buddy's ex always manages to ruin his plans. But, the season aint over yet.

Thanks fellas! This is the first goat hunt I've been a part of. I knew they had thick hair but damn the hide on those things is heavy. Hope you can get out after one CWH.

I'm just doing the archery thing right now as it's all we've got. Though no big bucks wandered under my stand this weekend, I did send a slick trick through a coyote. 20211008_192832.jpg

hunting on ur own land?
No, this one came off some ground I have access to in eastern CO. Headed to KS soon for archery whitetails on my place. Gotta get that squared away so I can get to bird hunting.

I went to Wyoming for Rifle Mule deer and Antelope. Filled the Mule deer tag in the morning and the Antelope tag in the afternoon of day one. The muley was a 300 yard shot with a 155 scenar, the bullet obliterated the heart and smashed the offside shoulder and kept on going. The buck just dropped at the shot. The antelope was a 200 yard shot , also with a 155 scenar and left a hole the size of a golf ball with his lungs hanging out on the backside.

Finally killed something with my ridgeline. Was about ready to toss the thing off the dock it was so unlucky.

Got him searching with rattling and soft grunts. Heavy timber, just the way I like it. He landed about 10 yds from where I killed a 4x two years ago.

SAS Arbiter. 20” Benchmark (1-8”) 6mm Creed, Tikka action, SS 3-9 MQ running 103 ELDX factory fodder. Shot was 318 yards.

What’s left of the 103….
Nice cat 👍
Crime of opportunity or were you targeting mountain lion?

Nice cat! You should reward yourself with a new camera. Or at least clean the wheel bearing grease off your flip-phone lens ;).

It was stone cold dark by the time we got to the cat…. tough pixel weather. Funny…. that stuff on the lens didn’t smell like bearing grease.

most of the cat trip trip was too hairballs terrain to take pics.

12 dudes, 16 horses and a ton of fun

first time on a horse, in the mountains, steep and rocky and snow felt about the same as my day on a rig floor using spinning chains.

fake it till ya make it... don't get hit by shit when it gets western and know when to bail.

grinder of a whitetail hunt to follow. finally found the spot on day 5 (new to me area) but started to lose motivation after battling a broken idler arm and 2 days of hurricane winds. been gone 13 of the last 15 days. punched the tag on a small buck that was relatively close to truck.

Almost embarrassed to post what we've got this year. Been having leg issues, haven't been able to get out like I usually do. Plus freezer was getting empty...said I'd take what I can, when I can and not feel bad about it.

Still got a few tags left though.

(That's not buttons on the first one, just grass that looks like it!)

Even been putting some tree rats in there. Been almost long enough for me to forget how much fun I have hunting them.

129 LRX through the heart. Forgive me, for I have sinned and crossed over to the 270 dark side.

pretty fun, as I had him and a hot doe on an island with one narrow means of escape. They tried and I slowed him down with a grunt for just long enough to get it done.

that alpaka mule raft is awesome for ship to shore. Weighs about 6lbs and stable AF. You can get the beach and toss it in the woods.

Shot this hot doe at the last 45 seconds of legal shooting time tonight. I set my alarm on my phone 1 minute early. She had a dink 6pt hanging in the woods dogging her ass and I was waiting for a big buck to follow but didn’t happen so dropped her. Ol’ lover boy was not happy and started running circles and looking at her and running some more LOL. The illumination on the Helos wasn’t needed but I had it on for the last half hour and on 2 that thing is really bright. Holy crap is that reticle big when it’s lit up. Mounted the scope at lunch and zeroed for 200.

6.5Jesus X-Bolt HCS 140 Accubonds. About 185 yard shot.
