I'll cut them out and see WTF.

Never had ELDs be too fussy before. Mostly shot them in custom barrels though. Once i get a decent group i'll play with seating depth if i need to.

Thanks!

What's your overall length? 26.0 grains of lever could be warm if you have to run them short. My last 223 really hammered with 26.0 grains and a 75 ELD, but COAL was 2.52". With that, I was getting 2970ish fps in a 26" barrel.

2.465 COAL. R/P brass, no pressure signs. Necks were pretty dirty.

Got used to Alpha/ADG, didn't touch the virgin brass before loading. Neck tension was likely all over the place too.

Not worried about it, it'll come around. I was just more curious as to whether most of you were floating them or leaving the pressure in. My other Tikkas floated fine from the factory.

(edit) 2.5"ish groups (5 shot)....more vertical than horizontal for sure.

I'd load the same load in some fireformed brass that you resized properly and see how it does if the mechanics are sound.

Lineman,
I floated my last couple Tikkas. The only area that needed a little work was just ahead of the chamber, same as you mentioned previously. I recall making quick work of it with a sharp pocket knife.

speed bumps removed and lug bedded into stock remedies most Tikka “issues”.

Are you guys sticking with Tikka mags and bottom metal or replacing it with AICS compatible mags and bottom metal?

I bought a Mtn Tactical for the Superlite, but CTR is good to go in factory form.

Mtn Tac mag isn’t much, will take some work/inside polishing to make it reliable. As sent it’s a 3 rounder lol.

That sucks. The two I have work fine.

There is one made in OZ that's supposed to be great but it's spendy.

I've thought about going AICS on mine but it shoots great with 77 and 69 TMKs at mag length plus I really like how they work on critters so I've been going that route lately
