Taking a trip next week and looking for smaller or compact binoculars that don't suck in the $200 price range.

Waterproof and a ranging reticle would be a bonus.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm not sure if you'll get a ranging reticle in that price range, though you might try the SWFA sample list for one of their 12x w/reticle. However, 12x wouldn't be my choice.

My $200 recommendation would be the Carson 3D(non-ED) 8x42. For another $80 you can get into the Carson 3D ED, which are marginally better, but that one is above your $200 budget. Those prices are on Amazon.
