This is the build: Surgeon 591 Action, Krieger #17 1 in 8 twist, .243AI, Jewel trigger, A5 stock. Can't get the bottom metal figured out. I want DM's, and I don't like the "tabs" that hang off Surgeon's metal, I have read un-flattering things about H&S, Seekins stuff looks really good, but I want to run AI mags. Need a little help.

Thanks.

R.

I have had a few of the HS DBM's and never had a problem with them, that being said I just go ADL on the thing and not worry about it.........Blake

Now this is all internet BS, I'm sure, which is why I asked the question here, but I've been told that the HS stuff is prone to rattling, and that they use some kind of o-ring to help retain the magazine? Bullshit or fact? It sounds like BS to me, but tell me more about them.

Thanks.

I gun HS on 4 or 5 different rifles(all s/a) and haven't anything negative to say. There is an O-ring that rides on the bottom of themag, upon a pronounced lip that it can't slide over(fall off the bottom). All my mags mate squarely, snugly, soundly and I've zero complaint in any regard.

As a notorious rock crawler/rock rester,I'm a great fan of flush bellies upon a Utility Rifle..............

This rifle is going to be very heavy, and won't see much rock. Grassy fields, and long shots, hence the DM in the first place. I'll take a closer look at HS.

Thanks.

Here's an HS DBM with mag fully seated. It LOCKS into place, with nary a wiggle in ANY direction. On the mags alongside, you can see the rubber O-ring thingy at the mag base.

223AI and 22-250 stoked,75A-Max of course in each..............

Thats the freakin ticket right there! No feed issues with the 243AI? Thanks for the picture! If it's not too much of a pain in the ass, could you snap one installed, on an A5 if possible?

Thanks.
