I'm late to the party, but...
I have Windows based PC's at my office and Macs at my house. I much prefer the Macs.
Since I own all 15 workstations at my office, I am very in tune with what it costs to maintain them. I hate Microsoft--there is always some update needed and that update creates a need to update something else. That update triggers a conflict with something else. Then we have to call in the IT guy who gets $150/hr door to door!
At the end of the day I go home to my Mac. I turn it on and it boots up in 20 seconds and runs perfectly until I shut it down. Like all things, there is a learning curve--Macs aren't PC's and don't try to be, but they do take some getting used to. I used to run Dell machines at home, but got tired of all the virus updating, restarting after lock-ups, and Microsoft asking me if I want to send error reports to them.
They can have my MacBook Pro when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers...
