I am not saying a MAC is bad, I am just saying I would bet alot of the problems with PC's are due to people getting some nasty little piece of software installed on there computer without them knowing about. Either from a virus, clicking on something they shouldn't have, or by installing a piece of software they want and a nasty little bitch piece of software piggy backing on it.

I work with PC's daily and have only had them go to shit on me by my own doing.

Ah fuck it, get the MAC, that is what my next one is going to be anyway.

Uh, that would be 2002. Only 7 years outta the loop....

I don't know anyone with a PC,that hasn't been hosed/crashed,for whatever reason and lotsa those guys are Techies working on/for the shit.

Never had really thought about it until now,but I've never even heard of a Mac guy suffering same. That in itself,is rather sumptin' IMHO.

If a PC will fuck up doing the very modest tasks I ask(they do/have/are) and the other won't,that starts to get compelling............

If I were buying today here's what it would be:

Asus w/ I-5 Quad Core Processor

1TD HD, & Ram expandable to 16G..............I'd upgrade the monitor to a 24" or just get the computer & buy a Samsung monitor, although the Asus monitors are veddy nice.

Mac's are fine but way over priced.

For years, Asus has made some of, if not the very best motherboards, which, as you know, is the brains of the computer.

Use external hard drives for long tern storage, keep less shit on the computers HD to keep speed up & rock on.

If this computer won't do it for you, you got not business doin' it.

Recent gripes from my staff about their PCs:

-Suddenly, after 10 months, the PC couldn't "locate the printer." (That was a mystery to me, because the printer was right next to the PC the whole time, but, whatever.) Ended up downloading new drivers and reinstalling the computer.

-The curser randomly disappears. Swirl the mouse around, and...nothing. You have to manage to get the invisible cursor over the START button (which can be a very entertaining process) and click. Then fire up a new application, and it comes back...most of the time. *sigh*

-MS Explorer randomly decides to lock up and you have to CTL-ALT-DEL in order to close it down. (A check of that lady's use history revealed she'd accessed nothing more than her gmail account and Foxnews).

Those are since January of this year.

MAC issues for my entire life:

-Bought a Mac SE in 1990. Used it consistently for 6 years, including leaving it turned on for a year straight while it doubled as my fax machine. Not one problem.

-Bought a Mac desktop in 1995. Used it for 3 years until I decided I needed a PC so my work computer and home computer could be compatible. So I got rid of the Mac. (Dumb move).

-Bought my wife a MacBook about 18 months ago. We don't have TV or a newspaper subscription, so all of our entertainment and news is from the computer. She has used that thing for about 4 hours a day, everyday, including uploading 5,000+ pics (she shoots a lot of pics with her Canon SLR something or other). No problems--ever.

--Bought myself a MacBook Pro in January of this year (my Christmas present). I use it every night for about 2-3 hours. Granted, it's only been 2 months, but so far so good.

I don't know why I have had better experiences with my Macs than my PCs, but frankly, I don't care. My PCs have all worked good enough and gotten the job done, but you really have to keep an eye on them. It's not a huge deal, but it's not much fun either. The Macs just seem to chug along without complaint. Until that changes, I'm happy to stick with Macs.
