I'd go M1 elevation only.

I hear that. I wonder what the price is for two scopes with each getting only an elevation M1? $90 each or $130 total because I am buying 2 turrets? Oh well, it doesn't matter. I'll gladly pay whatever it comes to.

You can get the CDS dials on both elevation and windage. I have a 3.5-10x40 w/ the CDS dials on it. anyway, I like them, despite the fact that most here don't. They are reliable/repeatable and I have no issues seeing the etchings to know where I am on the dials. I have some M1 equipped scopes too, and really like them a lot, but simply prefer the lower profile stuff on my hunting rigs.

I haven't tried the CDS turrets though I think there are a couple 3.5-10x40's in the house wearing them and ready to be bolted on.
If you're trying to save some cash, M1 elevation and skip the windage...it's a good way to go on a hunting rig.

M1 on a Leupold is a very good way to go.

M1's are my favorite also. I can live with standard Leupold target turrets, they aren't bad. Could prolly even do CDS on the right combo.
It's other makers' turrets I don't like. Leupold are far better than anyone else's, on the whole, IMO......
