Updates?
Fucking love it.
Going to poke a hole in a buck in a bad spot come November, just to use it like I mean it.....grin
Only problem I'm seeing with the crewcab right now, is that I'm tending to carry a lot of shit I don't need, just because I can and not notice the weight. Gone from carrying one knife and a small stone, to extra clothes, a stove, soup, some jagermeister, 4 liters of water, food....etc.....Once its strapped on, its gone.
I'm tempted to buy a second one, as a spare for when buddies show up with inadequate shit.
Like the 6500 bag, love the utility of the crewcab.
Buy one.

I've got one of the chinese ones (CBMR), and am not nearly as impressed with it. My evaluation wasn't really fair in that we had a moose down in a shitty spot, and I piled about 120-130lbs of shit into the crewcab.
I was hating life in short order... came back the next day with the Barney's, and life had improved significantly.
Not a bad pack for bumming around, but did not pack weight well, at least for me. It hasn't left the garage since...

I think with the crew it might depend on how long through the torso you are. I ain't a big dude, so it do fit me fairly well. That said, the 6500 does handle weight better, as the bag itself lengthens the frame and the shoulder straps attach a bunch higher on the 6500 than they do on the crewcab.
That said, there aren't many daypacks I'd be dumping 130lbs into, and expecting the bag to last more than a hundred yards. The crew will do it though.
If I was into packing bones out, ala moose quarters, I'd be stuffing them into the 6500, as opposed to the crewcab.
Haven't yet found a reciepe that makes 'em palatable though, so I don't much carry 'em......grin

I'm also a medium torsoed person. The NICE/crewcab fits me well. I will say that bag is a complicated mother to lash up properly with heavy and bulky loads to prevent them from hanging too far back from center. It's a great bag and I've used it a TON, but it does take some extra time to fit/load it properly. It also is somewhat heavy for a pack that i feel is best used on a day outting. If you are looking for an expeidtion bag on the NICE, look harder at the 6500. If you want a daypack, the longbow is hard to beat, it can carry well over 100lbs, it's lighter, and more simple to load up. I was not hurting with a full 2400cu of elk meat on saturday, my buddy with a Kafairy pack was feeling it.

It didn't take me very long to load it up and cinch it down, but maybe that's what my problem was.... It was dark and snowing, and I didn't feel much like fucking with a pack.
Interesting note that the 6500 changes strap attachment points, that could be a winner. The pack from hell that I mentioned was all meat, I suspect that a bone-in quarter would have actually killed me.

I've done that same shit with the crew cab, (just don't feel like making an extra 10 minutes of readjusting/positioning). With any pack, I try to keep the heaviest shit close to the spine of my back, and as high and center in the pack as possible. My next trip out, I'll be toting the 6500.
Worst trip of my life was a 2 mile downhill jaunt with a moose head and cape (uncaped) in my old Dana Design hoodoo spire daypack. That was utter misery.
