Busted another bungie cord yesterday, and didn't have a spare onboard. Rigged up a half ass pulley system with a ring, and a couple of anchors to make do for the night. Anybody know a better method for beach anchoring, other than the bungie? I hear that some guys use a ring, and a 50lb lead to rig up a pulley type system. Not sure how they do it though, and way I did it was a nightmare with the ropes.

Oh yeah, I guess I could start hauling my raft with me..(grin)

I drive an Indian Anchor to a 20lb cannon ball hung by trolling pulley. Hang it in the bight,kick it overboard at your depth/distance preference,power or drift to shore,offload and pull the running line to station bow over weight with motor(s) trimmed up fully.

To retrieve,simply tug running line,bow will swap to you and the weight will ride your way as long as you are hauling on the running line.

Bought a bungie years ago,used it once...fuck those things................

You gotta back coil the slack and I keep my weight/rope on the bow in an old cooler for storage,permanently tethered to bow eye.

By 'bungie', do you mean the anchorbuddy? We've been using them for years, ever since BW turned us on to them, and they do break on occasion. Log Cabin carried them at one point, not sure if they still do.

If that isn't what you're referring to, tell me more...I'm always looking out for a better way.

The Indian Anchor system just never appealed to me.

The Injun always finite control and increased "range" if desired.

Yeah, it's the anchor buddy. I'm going to give the Injun a try, but have a raft as back up. Too close to the rut to be screwing around..

Lew told me about the trolling pulley system, and it sounded so good, I bought the pulley. But then I never set it up, and have forgotten how to do it.

Plan on catching up with Lew in a couple weeks, and will hit him up again.
