Eyefucked a parking lot sign @ 350ish. I "knew" it said "Visitor Parking", couldn't read it though. Press the magic button and viola, I could honestly read it sans anything more than a handhold on my hind legs.
I'll get a better WTF on it this weekend but like I said, I was happily ignorant of it's existence 'til about 2:00 this afternoon.

Give or take it's roughly the size of a Leupold 12-40x60 Gold Ring spotter and I'd say about 3#.

Doug @ Cameraland says they're a good unit but mentions "Fragile". Almost seems like a challenge. Gonna put a call into the folks @ Zeiss tomorrow and see WTF they know.

It ain't electric. No batteries, Mechanical stabilization, howeverthefuck that works. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm gonna hafta feed the little stabilizing elves inside.
As an aside, I've beat the fuck outta my Geovids, they been back once for "signal fade" though it only cost me shipping to them.

Was describing them to a pard yesterday and he asks, "what batteries do they use and how long do they last?" I answer, "No batteries, they run on FM."
After a short musing of radio waves, I explain FM as "Fuckin' magic".

Seen a set of the binos goin' for 4k, in the box on Crackslist. Good deal fer sure, to the right guy...... Not as good a deal as you cut, though.

Zeiss is sending me an owners manual and some other info about them. They said if I FUBAR the IS it can run up to $1,500 to fix.
Short range session yesterday and compared them with a Swaro 85MM set @ 20x on a good tripod. My initial thought is that they aren't as sharp as the Swaro but hand-held vs. good tripod ain't really fair anyway.
@ 200yds I was able to easily see .243 and .257 sized holes in the paper.

That sounds like the answer....till it goes gunnybag. Just think of all those hikes where you told yourself you'd pay big money to have some other asshole haul your gear.....leave the tripod and pay yourself.
