25grains of Varget gets 2750 out of a 24" barrel seated at mag. length.

Edit Reason: Never tried H335 with 75's but I need to

Thanks Eagle. I pulled a load off the Hodgdon site for H335 and one off Ramshot's website for Xterminator. I'm hoping one of those two will shoot since they meter so well. If not, I'll give the Varget load a shot.

Shot that load to 1100 yards in Aug. We tried 1200 but wind got us.

Well, here are the results. These are the first groups out of this rig as I just put it together. All 5 shots except one, shot at 100 yards, 1" squares on the target. Which looks the most promising to you?

All are once fired RP brass from Southern Belle, CCI 400s and the 75gr HPBT loaded to 2.260"

22gr H335

22.5gr H335

23gr H335 (3 shots)

23.5gr Xterminator

24gr Xterminator

24.5gr Xterminator

The full cases look happy, I would shoot more of them. You may have got bit by last round bolt lock syndrome on the last group. Last round round out of an AR tend to be harder to keep in a group due to tha cahnge in recoil. My wife shoots her AR off the bench better I can, go figure.....

Yep, I was pretty pleased considering the sub-par trigger and horrible rest I was using. I had to run to the local indoor range since I only had an hour or two at lunch and didn't have my normal assortment of bags and rests.

I'm loading up a hundred or so of the 24gr Xterminator load for some additional range time tomorrow at our 1000 yard range.

Sounds like that will be alot more fun...

To make a range trip better I use a towel over the scope and down over the ejection port to catch brass, makes finding them a whole lot easier.

Thanks for the tip. I was chasing brass yesterday. Only lost one, but would rather lose none!
