I've scored a 700 in .308 (hopefully, not a done deal yet) and am wanting to put together a 243AI chunk to go with my 223AI (AKA-Shankenstein) and needed to get some particulars worked out.
The main thing I'm trying to decide on is contour and length. This gun will be for play, not work, so weight is obviously not an issue but I'd still like for the balance to be decent. I want something in a straight taper, say like a MTU or M24/40.
Considering the contour, at what length should I have it crowned? How much shank? Most likely going to drop it in an A5, possibly an A3. Fill weight on the stock?
Thoughts?
