Here's the latest build. Were on a time crunch with this one. Shawn would like to hand deliver this bugger to his client up in Alaska. Still waiting on the action. In the meantime were taking the stock and getting it all prepped for inletting.

Here's Garrett going "Blackwater" on the McMillan Sako Hunter stock in preparation for filling it back up. Nothing like taking a brand new boat paddle and screwing it all up!

More pics to follow shortly.

Enjoy,

C.

If the action arrives today were gonna shoot to have this finished up by the weekend. That'll be 3x guns to send to Mr. Peters.

Then onto the 50's soon as the other barrel arrives. Woo hoo!

I had a slew of "Witch Dr." appointments yesterday with the VA Hospital here at Ft. Meade. Seems I now have the feet of a 70 year old man. (arthritis-yay!)

I missed a delivery with UPS so we'll be getting care packages this morning me thinks.

Barrels from Brux typically arrive to us via "Speedy Delivery". They typically come in the afternoon.

We'll see. I'm gunnin to get this 50 stuff moving. Never done one before so were curious to see how it goes. I'm confident we can build a chooter. Hope so anyway!

We'll do a build thread on that bugger for sure.

Later,

C.

Pappy don't handle recoil too fucking good,in them itty-bitty pointy boots,so he throws brakes aboard lotsa shit that noone else would. Keeps him from tipping over.

Works great that I hack the fucking things off and mail them to him...................

The recoil is gonna be way too much for him,but if it's fucking loud,he'll like it.

You may wanna stack brakes, for full effect.....................

Perhaps just stage them every few inches for the entire length of the bbl.

You could use more powder and have less pressure. Fuck, it'd be the best thing since moly.

Spent all day on my new reloading room, I thought it would be a 2 day project and after a full day on it, I am certain there are 3 more good days involved. Will be nice to slide a window open on the reloading bench and have it free and clear out to 500 yards. Next time you come down Bennysahn you will not even have to get up from the reloading bench to see how your shit shoots. Talked to the local metal man yesterday about some ar500 for steel to shoot at, he says he has something better than that and pulls out some T1 which according to him is the shit. After one shot with the 300 ultra at 100 yards, I took his steel back with a hole in it and told him to order me a 1/2 sheet of ar500. I am going to make a full-sized deer silhouette to set out there at 1500 yards to warm up the 50 on, I will even put it right by a fence and pour a bucket of corn out in front of it to make it seem real. By spring I should have a pretty good string of steel put to plink at.

Growing up,I had the same setup. Reloading press on one side, big sliding upstairs window on the other, atop a bench laden with a half dozen 25lb shot bags filled with sand. Kiss, find pressure and rock on. If load development takes more than 5 pokes, you are fucking the dog.

I've multiple plates that I used as 375H&H AI fireform mainstays and they cupped nicely with 270gr Hornies bouncing offa them through the years. To date, the 257Wby 100XLC melding is the meanest shit I've ever whistled atta plate and 500yds ain't far enough. The 62TSX is a mean motherfucker too.

I'd better go be mean to shit....................

We shoot at AR500. Pards Dad works over at Portland steel so getting its easy enough. 223 to 300RUM cup and core to mono's I dont think we've had anything do much more than a small crater. Most just splat with a nice puff for a visual.

What would A1 be besides 304 stainless?? 304 is pretty soft stuff. Though I shoot some of it because I get scraps of it and 316 from work from time to time. My muzzleloader will crater 3/8 304 plate.

I'm thinking it was T1, not A1.

I shoot AR500 too though, it seems to work, though I did knock a little off one plate.

Thought so. One more hanging pitch over the plate for ya:

Do you have a preference on McM flat-tops being in the raw or having a coat of base on 'em? McM's pricing doesn't care one way or t'other....

Grey bondo patch works best for us.

Here's one we recently finished up for another guy. Our version of the Navy digital pattern.

Here it is today after the last color (black). We added the stipling in the grip. I guess the owner was afraid it'd get away from him. It won't now. You could grate cheese with it!
