I've typically got heavy hands when talkin' Torqtitude, but do differentiate betwixt steel values and aluminum alloy values...as per what material the fastener threads are actually engaging.
Lotsa(my) ring caps will never see the TQ value a base fastener will, due to the difference in materials. Have given thought to Heli-Coiling some alloy ring caps in the interest of R&D,but haven't as of yet.
A Marty rail will take a very good lick, whether flat, inclined or lugged and I assuredly fucking yard on them. I'd use a hammer wrench,if I could get one on the fasteners.(grin)
Though all are "lugged",not all ride on a stripper clip slot and upping the ante with 8-40's is tough to motherfuck. However,it ain't like an integral rail would fucking piss me off.

By in large, the weather and salt, put the hardest lick on things...with all else being equal..................
