Cutting to the fucking chase. 6-284 in W/W hull and 105 A-Max seated to 2.940" to allow DBM kiss and land chasin' both. The 243AI reamer throated to kiss the 105 inside OEM 700 S/A boxes,is a wee bit more than a leetle bit knowed in these parts and well beyond a constant. Dummy goes in the Mail and a reamer coinciding to same, will be the obvious fruition................

Assuming the 243AI is at 2.825"? If so, that pic is just what I needed to push me clear over the phucking ledge...

Thought of the 284 to push the 105's, but wanted to go ADL and that seemed to say 243AI.
Wouldn't be the first time I changed my mind, tho'. Can't see a downside to either path. Looking forward to the show & tell....

With all the 25-284s over the last decade, it's about damned time you twisted this up! Boolits change and it's tough to spec sumptin',for shit that don't exist. Pard built one(6-284) in '95 and it didn't bring much to the table at that time. The 243AI has always been forgiving in COAL in a host of receivers and it's veddy tough to whoop, without getting too fucking cute. Would love to see a 3" COAL Montucky in .473" and would tool in accordance around sucha receiver. The MOJO inherent the 284Win hull,is rather sumptin'......................

Impressed that a SAAMI 284Win staring you in the fucking face at that very dimension with a 162 glistening, stumps you.

Perspective(r) and how/why a 2.815"-esque 25-284 can shine so fucking brightly. L to R: .257" 80TTSX,.257" 100TSX,.257" 100XLC,.243" 105 'Max,.284" 162 'Max. Shit that looks like it'll slip conditions nicely, assuredly fucking will. But it ain't like anyone would pout with the advent of a .257" 115-ish Scenar or A-Max.(grin) So besides taking into account projectile length,it's prudent to give both bearing surface and ogive location some good thunks too. Shit with slickery profiles and modest bearing surface looks like it will make for very nice speeds, because it assuredly fucking will. Couple those exterior constants with rather nice terminal affects and you just rung the fucking bell,by default. Just now starting to rain and I hope I see some bearded fucker in an Ark float by,if only to electrify the Fishin'.....................(grin)

Nah, I don't mean 10 years ago. Just lately while the 243AI is showing its stuff I was wondering when you would neck down the 284 case to 6mm. Looking forward to seeing how it perks for you.

This rifle goes back over 10 years now, and things have changed. Mostly turrets if I was to do it again. But a 3.1" short action M70 with a #1 PacNor answered a lot of questions even then. This is a 284Win.

Winchester's greatest attribute,is their S/A mag confines................

Never shot/built anything .284 based, I have a Win. classic that has a Lilja #3 .243 1-8 twist spout on it,thought about punching it 6-284,is this doable,or would going Ackley be the best route? Also, thoughts on a stock other than the HTG it currently resides in.

On a Winny,I'd go 6-284...due to the available COAL latitude inherent the platform.
With a Lilja #3,I'd do nothing other than a Sako Hunter...............
