New to the forum, but happy as fuck that this place exists.
I am currently running 162 AMAXs out of an 18" 7-08 at 2.95" OAL. I am able to get 2700 at 41.5 gr of '15.
The problem is that there is so much room in the case that I can hear the powder shaking in the case, but I am getting fairly bad ejector swipe at 42gr. Should I swing for the fences and try to fill to capacity, or am I where I should stay?
Off topic but this little bitch lays waste to everything I point it at, the AMAX is the best damn critter gittr I have ever used. I have become a huge believer.

Even with the stumpy tube? I thought that the '15 had the most ideal burn rate, but willing to try a slower one if it would be worthwhile.

2700fps with a .625BC in an 18" spout is about as good as shit gets. If you wanna fuck around, your only move is to slow burn rate, add fuel to the fire and see where it takes you.
More '15 where you are at now, isn't gonna do you any favors.................

I just feel like a dumb fuck for spending the extra money to modify the action and the mags to make more boiler room that I'm not using. Live and learn.

That's how I wanted it setup, but it is a small jump due to gun plumber fuckup (I gave him five dummy rounds and said I wanted them to kiss at mag length). I had him cut the front plate out of an AICS mag and notch the feedramp to allow the longer OAL that I don't seem to actually need. Thanks to his fuckup, kissing is never a possibility as a repeater. I would send it back for a third barrel (he fucked the first one up worse), but it shoots fine the way it is.
Live and Learn. There is usually a damn good reason that a "gunsmith" that has been around a while has small leadtimes.
