If I was in the area, I don't think I could pass that up.

A friend has a LW 300 Ultra from Wayne.

Looks to be the Dude ordered himself a custom without being intimately aware of all the details. He lays out cosmetic details that are clearly visible, but doesnt mention non-obvious details that are important to many like handle, coating type, tube brand.
I may be reading the situation wrong though.

Having started out asking $2250 and now being at $1250 and still no takers I'm sure he's a bit bewildered at the lack of apparent resale value of his rifle.

If I wasnt already suffering a Montana 270 WSM and 7mm WSM, or if it was a short action I'd be all over it.

Wayne doesn't normally allow his name to be stamped on cheap crap (punching out factory tubes for instance), and he makes his own stocks, which I'm guessing is on that rifle. Never held one, but would still prefer an Edge for the reputation/backing/resale Mickeys get.

Slabbed action, spiral fluted bolt body, skeletonized shifter handle and hollow knob is worth something.

VX3 3.5-10 wouldn't hurt my feelings, and you could probably sell those bases and rings....

It is a tad spendy for a donor though. Maybe you could just get the shank stamped 280AI so your friends wouldn't make fun of you.

Think I'll bring a couple down to spruce the Boy's place up. Although, I'd have to sneak momma's out, she's pretty attached to it.

A guy is selling an XCR2 on the campfire right now in 280. New trigger, McM Swirly, and a punch and you'd be there.
