Seeing as this is still a free country at least for awhile I'm gonna do the American thing and get one of each.
Thanks for the input...

There are 4 of those Gerber's sittin at the local whorehouse, debating picking them up to augment the one already owned.
Bought the first a year ago on a whim after reading about it here, didn't think I would have a use for it. After using the fuck out of it with dull blade and all, I can't not find a use for it....

Can hardly wait to start wielding it this weekend.
Damn store closed up within a few minutes of my arrival and they stuck a gentleman's folder on hold for me.......That's gonna be nice when it ain't a folder no more.

Went ahead and stimulated the economy and ordered one of each. Time permitting I'll have a side by side field comparison in the near future.

You did well......
I bought mine on Thursday and spent the weekend cutting Juniper limbs as big as 3 inches for firewood......2-3 swipes and it was done. I bought the hatchet, axe, and machete.........all fucking badass to say the least.
What hasn't gotten any press was the sheath........It's a helluva deal in it's own right. Very handy.

Got them in today. First impression... Gerber (made by Fiskars)... not very sharp, will need an edge applied before use. Ergos good, grip OK, sheath very nice, lightweight, wouldn't know you were wearing it. Ontario (made in the USA)... razor sharp from the box, Blade is a full 1/4" thick, serrations on top of blade appear to be useless, grip-hard rubber but slightly sticky feeling, the sheath is a leather, cordura mix and is well made. Feels like it's got some ass to it. If the weather holds I should have a field report this weekend. hangunnr

My newest Gerber was duller than fucking Church. They boast pretty good steel and take/hold an edge well.
I'm still a fan of friction taping the handle and driving a lanyard................
