It's got a lot of potential with modern actions, powder, bullets.
A little more volume than the 260 Rem, decent neck length, easy feeding geometry.
It's one of those old classics that just gets better with time.

Good to see some love for the old Sweede. I have been looking at the Improved Sweedes as well. I think there are a couple different versions out there. I have a 6.5x55 in an 1936 Mexican Mauser, shoots very well.

While 600yds isn't very far,the modest barreled 7-08 will do that and Critters veddy veddy easily.
No bullshit,no fucking around and with authority...............

Tough to beat a 6.5-06 for a L/A 264,that remains friendly.
Though I couldn't do it and would gun 280AI way instead.............

It will most definitely be on a short action. I thought about another 7-08 geared via 162 A-max. But, I've been 7-08ing a long time. Hell, I didn't even know anybody else shot a 7-08 til I discovered the innanet. I'm pretty sure 6.5x47 Lapua will get the nod. Then I'll rebuild the 6-06 with a little help from Karl, Broughton, and McMillan.......

It is easily my favorite deer cartridge of all time. Have taken many a whitetail with my 7-08's. If there is a single thing to not like about it, I haven't figgered out what it is yet......
