Last week of August fishing on BC North Coast

Been talking it up for a decade, about doing a Queen Charlottes/Haida Gwaii whatever you want to call it trip.
Figured I turn 50 at the end of August, so what the fuck.
Me and a buddy and my kid are booked onto the boat, and going to do a deer hunt/fish trip.
Thinking that there should be coho hitting the rivers then, no?
What should I be looking at for rods/reels/rigging?
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

You fishing from a boat in the salt or stream fishing ?

Streams mostly, but thinking we might take a 12’ or zodiac to buzz down the beach and toss crab pots.
At this point we are just looking for the best plan to have the most laughs.

I don’t know about down there but here someone(Stick) once told me to get a gold #4 vibrax and it works.
The only change I’ve made is getting a #4 gold vibrax with an orange body.
That’s been the best lures I’ve used.
Don’t fish beside someone with eggs though as your feelings will get hurt !

Fair certain that the North coast of ‘Gwaii is pretty close to your AO, so it should be similar-ish conditions.
