I could like trompin around in those woods a bit....I want a whitetail for the wall, one of these days.
There is an area up in the U.P. called the Sceney Swamp that has some particularly huge bucks. Not too many people venture too far in because you may not get back out. You'd need waders and a canoe. It is dark on a sunny day in there. The swamp is at least 30 miles long. I know an old man who has shot about 20 bucks in there that would all make the record books if he gave a shit. One day, before I get too old, I need to conquer Sceney Swamp.....
Hunting in one of those big cedar swamps would be a different experience all together. Looks like there ought to be a bunch o ducks on the water though.

That was the only sunny day we had this year. Figured I'd snap a couple pics. It was 21 degrees that morning. Clear and cold....
It is framed into 3 cedar trees, with composite decking and 2x4's. Has a height adjustable(hydraulic) swivel seat from a bass boat. It's 24 ft to the bottom of the platform.....
2mg, where'bouts on the Ausable? I have trout fished most of it from Mio to Glennie...Some of the terrain can get nice when you cross the bridge and head west as well.
2MG, those pics look alot like the area around the lumbermans monument...then again alot of that river looks the same.
