Is it just me...or is most chit that gets mounted and run silly with a bunch of other critters, on fiberglass rock.....in the midst of shopping carts, coupon books, piped in music, and screaming children hanging out of carts....not look dooopid.

I must be in a bad mood...

Haven't been yet....we are planing on going mid-week....when there are fewer ppl.

How were the psuedo streams and trout????

I went on the grand opening was not to bad people wise I thought it would be worse. Need to go again when I have a little more time to mill around. The bargain cave was nothing I had imagined it was like going from a well decorated store with cool things, then turning the corner and you are in goodwill.

Ya the sign seems to work for most but you still hear some say what is that.

Now we have a cabela's the amount of gear in the rivers and lead in the air will double.

Going to have to start wearing orange for Archery soon.

How about all the shoulder mounts? If thier all fake too that would explain the lack of broken tines on the deer and elk

Seems retarded(apologies paul)...that they couldn't, if only faking it, give the poor buck a bigger neck...he looks like a foot rest. Did they give him nads??

Okay...now I gotta see this place.

Traffic, is blistering 'round that place....

Go check it out. Parking is a breeze and the store is layed out well so that the crowd doesnt seem bad.

Oh well, I guess I wont spend as much time gawking at the mounts.
That place is like a casino, if I have any cash on me when I go in it gets spent there.

I was layed off durring deer season so I got out more then normal and still couldnt find a good buck. I seen more spikes and little forkys this year then ever. I've been out a few times for elk but no shooters yet. I didnt make it out this weekend, had crap to get done. I'm hunting elk solo this year so I dont feel obligated to shoot just any legal bull for the meat.

The hunting down here sucks.
Nah, but it sure is challenging. What is sooooooo painful....is that we gotta wait another foookin year to do it again.

Being the goober I am, I just keep reliving...in my head....that split second shot and watching her fall down the ravine...and the heart pounding 5 minutes it took me to find her in all that damned brush....my head ringing with 'find a blood trail'...and shaking like a leaf once I spotted her. My mind was boggled at the fact I actually, without much thought, shot my first deer....and all her warm guts, once we spliced her open.....and I'll never forget the steam that rolled outta her...or the way the gut pile poured out...or getting her, albeit gutted, up that fuggin hill and into the truck. Beamed like I'd won the fucking lottery...all the way home.

Yeah. it'll get me through the next year....but I want a BOY deer next year. Ain't even counted out...hell... might could, with some conditioning, see myself attempting bear in the spring. Prrrr.

I've hunted in a couple of other states for deer, elk, and bear where the game populations are alot higher then here. I'd go out of state every year if I could afford to. I'm not looking to just put meet in the freezer anymore, I want something worthy of hanging on the wall. I still have fun hunting around here and wont stop but I want to hunt out of state more often.

Yeah, I definitely like what's behind door#2.

The Cabelas Mountain O' Fur leaves a lot to be desired. It's mostly somethin' for the kids (and JO) too oooh and ahhh over. It helps to take away the box store feeling, but just barely. Same with the silly fish tanks. I'd rather they saved the floor space for more of their clothing I may want to try on.

I don't know about your Cabelas, but the one thing they don't need at the store I go to is more damn redundant clothes. :)
Same thing I was thinking they could fit more guns in with less clothes.
