Revolvers that use moon clips...

Been thinking of buying the wife a revolver that uses moon clips, as they seem the easiest to load, then unload, and load again without screwing with a speed loader.

Something small enough she can stick in a pocket when hiking. But large enough to at least get a brown bears attention. That's probably asking too much. I don't expect a "dead right there" bear, but one that knows any further aggression is going to hurt.

She has a Charter Arms Bulldog in 44Special. It's the right size, and not a bad cartridge, but no moon clips.

I'm considering something in .40S&W, 10mm, or 45ACP.

Thoughts?

I've been meaning to convert my 480 SRH to take full moon clips. Definately a slick way to reload, and a quick way to swap over to mild loads for small game.

I just had a S&W Model 25-5 .45 Long Colt cut for moon clips by Pinnacle High Performance and he does a great job. Cost was $87 including return shipping. You only need to send in the cylinder
