If you had a Model 70 300WSM with a Laminate stock laying around. I have had it about 5 years and put about 80-100 shots through it. The thing looks brand new and I still have the box and everything else that came with it. I have never really warmed up to it for some reason. I'm thinking of either selling it to fund a Kimber or putting a different barrel, new stock and getting it Cerakoted. I have thought about making a 350Rem Mag out of it but I don't know if its more trouble than what its worth.
Whitetails around Tn. It's a heavy SOB too. I wanted a 300WSM when they came out. Actually wanted a Browning since it was just them and Winchester that had the chambering at the time. Found the Wichester first so I jumped on it. It has always done me right...I just cannot get to like it.
My first Kampfeld rifle was a 300wsm on a remmy 700, tips the scales at 7.5 pounds all up. I love it, that being said I doubt I could like it in a model 70.........Blake

I like Model 70s, which puts me in a minority around here, but I can live with it. That said, if you don't like yours you don't like it and a caliber change probably won't help much for your needs.

I think you're okay there. There's a certain flow in your direction, at least for "classics." However, we won't know for sure until Stick uses one.

Grandpa gave it to me when I was five. I killed my first deer with it when I was 10. I have not hunted with it since I was 12.

he sure would be smiling to know it was hunting again it has the bluing wore off of the bottom of the receiver in a pattern that matches his hand. he sure used the hell of it.
